Lake Edge Alano Klub is a member-run clubhouse that exists for one reason: to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers. We keep our doors open, our coffee on, and our meeting list full.
Wondering about your drinking?
A lot of people who end up at the klub started out just like this — not sure if what they were going through counted as "a problem," and not sure who to ask. If a few of these sound familiar, it might be worth talking to someone who understands:
None of this means you have to have it figured out before you walk in. Come to an open meeting, sit in the back if you want, and just listen. That's how most of us started.
Open meetings are open to anyone curious about recovery — you don't have to identify as anything to attend.
It's okay to come, listen, and leave. Nobody will put you on the spot.
What's said in the room stays in the room. Reach out by email if you'd rather ask privately first.
The A.A. preamble
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

About the klub
Lake Edge Alano Klub is organized to engage in educational, charitable, and social welfare work connected with the rehabilitation of people affected by alcoholism, and to keep club rooms open for A.A. members and their families. Our primary purpose is to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
The klub is a non-profit, run entirely by its membership. No one qualified for membership is turned away because of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, or political affiliation, and the klub is never a party to any trade union or collective bargaining effort.
Officers and the Board of Directors are elected from the membership each November and serve one-year terms.
Open meetings welcome anyone curious about A.A.'s program of recovery. Closed meetings are reserved for A.A. members and those who want to stop drinking.
The klub house is alcohol-free, drug-free, and weapons-free, with zero tolerance for anything that puts that safety at risk.
Weekly meetings
All meetings are held at the klub house, 10105 S Ewing Ave, Chicago, IL 60617, unless noted otherwise.

Klub etiquette
Misconduct of any type will not be tolerated. No slanderous or malicious gossip about the klub or its members.
A.A. meetings take precedence over social activities; social activities take precedence over personal ones.
Non-members must be accompanied by a member. Members are responsible for their guests, including financial responsibility for damages.
No one under 18 in the recreation room unless accompanied by an adult. Children 12 and under aren't allowed at adult functions without children's tickets. Parents must directly and constantly supervise their children while in the klub.
The last member to leave at night turns off the coffee pots and cleans them, turns off the TV/radio, closes all windows, and locks all doors. Klub curfew is midnight unless given advance permission.
Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and weapons are prohibited at all times.
No loitering in the office. Don't leave your mess for someone else to clean up — act sober. The klub isn't responsible for personal property.
Ask for a receipt for any purchase. Items from the literature cabinet must be listed on a receipt or on an envelope placed under the office door.
Members and guests are expected to practice good personal hygiene. TV and radio station choice is first come, first served, or by negotiation.
